On Tuesday September 22nd, 2020 we tested 111 Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Memory Care residents via PCR nasal swab testing. 108 out of 111 results all came back negative. 2 residents tested positive in Skilled Nursing and 1 resident tested positive in Assisted Living.
The Assisted Living resident recently returned to their AL apartment after having a rehab stay in Skilled Nursing. We believe their exposure took place in skilled nursing. They have not been in contact with any residents in Assisted Living as they returned into that area after our quarantine started.
We also have 1 Memory Care resident who was sent to the hospital on Wednesday that has tested positive for COVID at the hospital. Their PCR test that was done the day before returned negative. They are asymptomatic for signs and symptoms of COVID
We now have 7 total resident confirmed positives cases and have 0 presumed cases showing signs or symptoms. 5 from Skilled Nursing, 1 from Memory Care, and 1 from Traditional AL. All families and residents were informed of their positive results. If you or your family member has not received a direct call from WRMC your test result or the result of your family is NEGATIVE.
We currently have 2 total staff members with confirmed COVID cases.
On Wednesday September 23rd, 2020 we tested all WRMC employees via PCR nasal swabbing. We anticipate those results to come in over the weekend. As we did before will report our aggregate results once they are available.
We will continue with weekly testing of residents in our care areas on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for staff utilizing Rapid Response and PCR testing depending on the availability of the Rapid Test.
The new positive cases will extend our quarantine out another 14 days.
With a positive case in Memory Care we will be stopping window visitations in this area until further notice.
As you know, we have had a “Pandemic Plan” in place since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic to ensure the safety and health of all of our staff and community members. We will continue to comply with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and protocols to minimize the exposure of staff members, community members, and clients.
Our staff working in care areas are all wearing N95 masks, faceshields, gowns, and facility provided scrubs.
We know this is a challenging and scary situation, but this is what we have worked so hard to prepare for. We will get through this together and we will persevere.
