Meet Emily, State Trained Nursing Assistant (STNA)

A True Super Star

At Western Reserve Masonic Community, our employees are super stars! We recently sat down with a STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant) named Emily so she could share her story and the success she’s had at Western Reserve Masonic Community. Meet Emily, a Western Reserve Masonic Community Super Star!

How long have you worked at Western Reserve Masonic Community?

I began working at WRMC over two years ago. I have worked the first and second shifts. I get to work in Skilled Nursing and Memory Care. I really enjoy both.

What makes Western Reserve Masonic Community different than other senior living communities?

Here you work as a team. We always put our community members first 110% of the time. Our team is involved and enthusiastic while doing their jobs. This is a good fit for me. Everyone cares about everybody, staff and community members.

What do your daily responsibilities include?

My daily responsibilities include taking care of the basic needs of our community members. I may help with bathing or help someone get dressed. I look at my responsibilities as both caring for their physical and the emotional needs.

We often become part of their families. Some of our community members do not have family in the local area. The time we spend with them may be their only interaction with other people. I want our community members to know that they are well cared for and that they are part of the WRMC family. I treat our community members like they are part of my own family.

What are some of your favorite benefits Western Reserve Masonic Community offers?

The benefits are wonderful. Personally, I really appreciate the flexible schedule. That works perfectly for me and my needs. My favorite benefit is a personal benefit. It’s simply just being here. The opportunity work with good people and care for our population is the best benefit I could ever ask for.

What would you tell a prospective employee about Western Reserve Masonic Community?

This is a great company to work for! I would recommend that you come to work at WRMC. My advice to you is to be willing to work. Have an open mind. Be ready to learn something new.

Work with your heart. Your heart will show you how special WRMC really is. We are a tight-knit team and we enjoy each other. Our community members are at the heart of everything we do. I watch out for them every day.

Why do you love working at Western Reserve Masonic Community?

As a young person, I remember learning the importance of saying “please” and “thank you.” That has been forgotten by so many people, but it’s definitely not forgotten at WRMC. I hear those words every day. The staff is thanked for what they do. We thank our community members and let them know that they are cared for and appreciated. Every day working at WRMC, I know I am working with family. That makes coming to work very special.
