A True Superstar
At Western Reserve Masonic Community, (WRMC) our employees are superstars! Meet Ann, STNA, at Western Reserve Masonic Community! As a STNA (Stated-Tested Nursing Assistant), Ann shared her story and the success she has had with us at Western Reserve Masonic Community.
How long have you worked at Western Reserve Masonic Community?
I have worked WRMC for two years this month. I live in Portage Lake and graduated from Stow High School; my family has been in the printing business for many years. After 36 years of following in my family’s footsteps, I decided it was time to make a change. So, I decided to make a move to senior living.
After I started working at a different community in the Medina area, I had the opportunity to get my license so I could become an STNA. I’m thrilled that I gave it a try and I earned my license.
What makes Western Reserve Masonic Community different than other senior living communities?
I love coming to work every day. The people and the environment, as well as the management, make me feel welcome and appreciated. I work second shift, which is perfect for me. Additionally, my husband also works second shift so we are able to be at home together.
I offer to work days that I would normally have off, even in other areas of the community, simply because I love working at Western Reserve Masonic Community.
What do your daily responsibilities include?
What are some of your favorite benefits Western Reserve Masonic Community offers?
The move to senior living was a great decision for me, personally and for the benefits. I love being able to work second shift to correspond with my husband’s schedule. The pay is great, and the bonuses are even better!
What would you tell a prospective employee about Western Reserve Masonic Community?
Come and join the WRMC team—you’ll enjoy working here! New team members receive excellent training and are well prepared to work with our residents. I appreciate being able to recruit other good employees to join our team, and one of them works here today. Overall, Western Reserve Masonic Community is a fantastic place to work!
Why do you love working at Western Reserve Masonic Community?
It’s definitely the people, residents, co-workers and our fantastic leadership. I enjoy spending time with our residents and brightening their day. For example, I can picture one of the residents that was here for rehab—all I had to do was talk a few minutes and I could have her laughing. That made my day!
