The Ohio Masonic Communities Foundation: Tornado Relief Fund

The Ohio Masonic Communities Foundation: Tornado Relief Fund

As part of The Ohio Masonic Communities’ ongoing commitment to the greater Dayton community, and in collaboration with the local Masonic Fraternity, The Ohio Masonic Communities Foundation and The Dayton Masonic Center Foundation have joined together to provide direct financial support to seniors in distress following the recent tornado damage. Together, these organizations are taking swift, meaningful action to ensure older adults receive the assistance they need during an incredibly difficult time.

This partnership allows us to mobilize resources quickly and offer relief to seniors who may be facing displacement. Moreover, our shared mission drives us to stand beside the community, offering stability, compassion, and practical help when it matters most.

Together, the two organizations, will donate over $100,000.

“As a leading senior living provider in the region, The Ohio Masonic Home, understands the challenges facing many older adults. Our mission is to be ‘the living expression of our Masonic Values. We serve as the trusted partner to help people age respectfully.’ We are partnering with The Dayton Masonic Center Foundation. We are able to fulfill our mission and help those 55 and better in need,” stated Steve Petitjean, Executive Director.

Furthermore, one of the guiding tenets of Freemasonry is providing charitable relief and aid to those in distress. After witnessing the devastation to the Dayton communities, The Ohio Masonic Home Foundation and The Dayton Masonic Center Foundation, recognized they have an obligation to provide support.

“Ohio Freemasons and The Foundation want to challenge others to help those impacted by the tornadoes. Help us get those affected back into their homes, both old and new. Together we can accomplish great things and continue to improve our communities,” continued Petitjean.

The two organizations are excited to announce the development of “The Ohio Masonic Home Foundation Tornado Relief Fund of The Dayton Foundation.” It will be funded with a grant of $100,000 from The Ohio Masonic Home Foundation and $10,000 from The Dayton Masonic Center Foundation. The purpose of this fund is to aid the efforts of non-profit organizations directly helping those aged 55+. Both organizations encourage other community leaders to consider making a grant to The Ohio Masonic Home Foundation Tornado Relief Fund, or The Dayton Foundation’s Greater Dayton Disaster Relief Fund, which supports long-term tornado relief and rebuilding efforts of nonprofit organizations that are helping all individuals impacted by the tornadoes.

The Dayton Foundation

The fund provides critical resources for nonprofits. They are assisting our region’s older adults with recovery and rebuilding efforts in the months and years ahead.”

“The Dayton Masonic Center Foundation is excited to participate in local tornado relief efforts. The community we serve is what Freemasons do,” said Ronald Connelly, President of The Dayton Masonic Center Foundation.
