Kentucky Derby at Springfield Masonic Community!

The Kentucky Derby is steeped in traditions like fancy clothing and beautiful hats as well as Mint Julips and the singing of My Old Kentucky Home.  Those same traditions and can found at the Springfield Masonic Community (SMC). Ladies made their hats and enjoyed the opportunity to win a gift card simply for wearing their hats. Celebrate the Kentucky Derby at Springfield Masonic Community with us!

Everyone enjoyed a picnic dinner and the ability to choose a horse that they hoped would win the race. Community members hoped their horse would win and made friendly, joking comments about who the winner would be.  If you asked anyone Rich Strike didn’t stand a chance of winning with the odds at 80-1.  As the evening came to a close, one thing was for sure, sometimes a long shot will show everyone who the real winner is going to be. Congratulations to Rich Strike for the unprecedented win!
