FAQs about Assisted Living
Can I bring my pets?
Absolutely! We know furry friends are part of the family, and we love welcoming them into the community. Our general rule of thumb is that a resident must be able to take care of the pet themselves or have someone who helps them take care of it, like a dog walker. If you have specific questions about our pet policy, we’re happy to answer them.
What care is included?
Assisted living is all about providing support with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs). ADLs include bathing, using the bathroom, getting dressed, eating, and transferring. IADLs include managing medication, preparing meals, paying bills, and cleaning. In assisted living, residents can receive assistance with some or all of these daily activities depending on their individual needs.
What’s included in the cost?
Our monthly fee covers the cost of the private apartment, all utilities including phone, cable, and internet, housekeeping, laundry, meals, and care provided by a nurse or nursing assistant. The beauty salon is not included in the monthly fee, but we can connect you with our stylist so you can learn more about the services they provide, their costs, and scheduling appointments. Do I have to sign a long-term lease or contract?
We know you’ll love living here, but we understand life happens and sometimes things change. We want you to have the freedom and flexibility to do what’s best for you and your family, so we just require 30-day notice if you need to move.
What are your payment options?
Most of our residents are private pay. If you have questions about Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, or long-term care insurance, give us a call. We can explain our pricing more in-depth and connect you with people and resources to answer your questions.
Do I have to be Masonic?
No, Springfield Masonic Community is open to the public regardless of being Masonic or not. During the application process, we’ll ask about any Masonic affiliations, but we don’t use that information to decide if you’re eligible to live here.
