The other day, for no reason, I surprised my wife with a bouquet of roses. She was so touched by the sentiment of my love it reminded her of Thomas, one of our neighbors. Every Friday afternoon Thomas tended his rose garden and he carefully selected the prettiest rose for the woman he loved, his Lily. Lily prized that rose and would proudly display it in a special vase for everyone to see. When asked about that rose, with a twinkle in her eye, she would talk about her beloved Thomas. Lily’s rose represented so much more than a beautiful flower; that rose and so many other roses are symbols of a love shared and built together, just as Lily and Thomas had done throughout their lives, it symbolized the light they saw in each other.
Love, Light, and Life exist in each and every one of us. At the Ohio Masonic Home we see that rose in the eyes of the people we serve, whether on one of our campuses or in the home of one of our families.
The Rose, a symbol of Love, Light, and Life has fittingly been chosen as a symbol of the generosity shown by our benefactors, who enable us to provide the programs needed by so many.
Please join me today in making a gift that enables another to keep the twinkle in their eye.
Sincerely,
Steve Petitjean
Executive Director
