COVID Updates at The Ohio Masonic Communities

Please read the following COVID updates at The Ohio Masonic Communities! Keep an eye out for upcoming changes to our community.

The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Veterans Services, has put into place a new visitation guideline for all Ohio Nursing Homes and similar facilities in an effort to decrease the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. At this time, there are four confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ohio, three being in Cuyahoga County.

Per these new guidelines, visitations will be limited to medically necessary only situations. These situations include end of life or when a visitor is essential to the emotional well-being and care of one of our community members.

Per that order, all visitors will be asked upon arrival to sign-in and take a basic health exam before continuing onto the campus. Should the visitor have a temperature of 100.0 F and greater, they will be asked to leave immediately. Also upon arrival each visitor must answer the following questions to ensure the safety and wellness of our community members. These are:

  1. Have you traveled to China, Hong Kong, Italy, Iran, Japan, or South Korea in the last 14 days?
  2. Have you been in contact with anyone who has been medically diagnosed or is currently being investigated with a possible diagnosis of COVID-19?
  3. Are you experiencing any symptoms related to fever, cough, or shortness of breath?
  4. Have you traveled outside of the United States in the last 30 days?

If the answer to any of the first three questions is yes, we will ask the visitor to leave the campus immediately. If the answer to question four is yes, we will document for further examination.

We do not want to limit communication with our community members and their loved ones, so we have set-up Skype Labs across our campuses so that families and visitors may still communicate face-to-face with loved ones utilizing technology.

The safety, care, and well-being of our community members and staff are of utmost importance to us. We appreciate your patience at this time. Should you have any questions regarding these new guidelines, we invite you to call the COVID-19 hotline at 1-833-4-ASK-ODH or visit www.coronavirus.ohio.gov.
