Campus Updates at Western Reserve Masonic Community

Please read the following campus updates at Western Reserve Masonic Community! Keep an eye out for upcoming changes to our community.

We continue to monitor the COVID-19 Pandemic closely. We continue to remain COVID – FREE. We are concerned that over the last week the number of cases has continued to go up. Last week there were over 74 new positive cases in Medina County which is a new high weekly total for the pandemic. The Medina County Health Department has been quoted in the news that NONE of the new cases are coming from congregate living facilities such as Skilled Nursing and Assisted Livings. All of the cases have been attributed to weddings, family reunions, graduation parties, and out of state travel.

For Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living visits, mask wearing and social distancing are a must. We understand that this amount of separation has been difficult for all of us. But, we simply cannot let our guard down. We need your help to make sure that our community members remain healthy and safe. Additionally, the State of Ohio has prohibited visits for children 2 and under or any other age where their maturity will prevent someone from wearing a mask. Please also remember that bringing food or beverages to your visit is also prohibited.

For Independent Living visitors, all visits must take place inside the community member’s apartment ONLY and masks are required for all visitors in the corridors of the building. While it is impossible for us to enforce, we strongly encourage ALL family members to wear masks while visiting Independent Living community members.

The State of Ohio has rolled out a new Alert System that rates the risk in each county. Medina is at Level 2 alert, meaning there is increased exposure and spread is taking place. Level 3 is the next level. Counties that are a level 3 have required mask wearing when in public spaces. Should Medina County go to a Level 3 all community members would be required to wear masks when they leave their apartment. Masks may be removed when you are outside of the building.

In happier news the State of Ohio has allowed us to OPEN THE BEAUTY SHOP!!!!!!

Starting Tuesday July 21st, 2020 we will be our official start date. The Beauty Shop will follow all of the protocols outlined by the State of Ohio in regards to Social Distancing, Mask Wearing, and Sanitation. We have worked closely with our stylists to ensure that this service will take place in the safest ways possible. All visits will be done by appointment only and there will be no walk-ins. Each area has been assigned a specific day of the week and time.

Over the coming weeks will assess our ability to re-open the fitness center, library and wood shop.

Over the last several months we have received an outpouring of support from our families. Please know that your kind words and thoughts are what keep our hearts full. We will continue to strive in earnest to ensure for the health and safety of your loved ones.
