Campus Updates at Western Reserve Masonic Community
Please read the following campus updates at Western Reserve Masonic Community! Keep an eye out for upcoming changes to our community.
We tested 111 Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Memory Care residents using PCR nasal swabs. 108 out of 111 results came back negative. Two residents in Skilled Nursing and 1 resident in Assisted Living tested positive.
Additionally, Assisted Living resident recently returned to their AL apartment after a rehab stay in Skilled Nursing. We believe their exposure occurred in Skilled Nursing. Importantly, they have not been in contact with any Assisted Living residents, as they returned to that area after our quarantine began.
Additionally, we continue to monitor all care areas closely and will communicate further updates as results become available.
Campus Updates
We also have 1 Memory Care resident who was sent to the hospital on Wednesday and tested positive for COVID‑19 at the hospital. Their PCR test from the previous day returned negative, and they remain asymptomatic for any signs or symptoms of COVID.
We now have 7 total confirmed positive resident cases and 0 presumed cases showing symptoms. These include 5 from Skilled Nursing, 1 from Memory Care, and 1 from Traditional AL. All families and residents were informed of their positive results. Additionally, if you or your family member did not receive a direct call from WRMC, your test result—or your family member’s result—is NEGATIVE.
We tested all WRMC employees via PCR nasal swabbing, and we anticipate receiving those results over the weekend. As before, we will report our aggregate results once they become available.
Furthermore, we will continue weekly testing of residents in our care areas on Tuesdays and weekly testing for staff on Wednesdays, using rapid response and PCR testing depending on the availability of the rapid test.
Finally, because we have a positive case in Memory Care, we will stop window visitations in this area until further notice.
Plan Updates
The pandemic plan for COVID‑19 aims to ensure the safety and health of all staff and community members. We continue to comply with CDC guidelines and protocols, and this approach significantly minimizes the exposure of staff members, community members, and clients.
Additionally, our staff working in care areas are wearing N95 masks, face shields, gowns, and facility‑provided scrubs.
We know this is a challenging and scary situation; however, this is exactly what we have worked so hard to prepare for. Together, we will get through this, and ultimately, we will persevere.
