Campus Updates at Western Reserve Masonic Community

Campus Updates at Western Reserve Masonic Community

Please read the following campus updates at Western Reserve Masonic Community.

On Monday, we performed rapid response testing for all staff and vendors, and all individuals tested negative for COVID‑19. Yesterday, we again tested all vendors and staff, and 1 nurse who works in Skilled Nursing and Traditional Assisted Living tested positive. We collected a PCR test and are now awaiting results from our partner laboratory.

Additionally, yesterday we tested all Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, and Traditional Assisted Living community members using rapid response tests. We had 1 Pathways Memory Care community member test positive. We informed the resident and their family member of the results prior to this call. The community member is now under self‑isolation protocol and remains asymptomatic at this time.

Moreover, Medina County’s positivity rate has increased to 28%. Due to this increase—and several other COVID‑related factors—IL visitation will remain suspended.

Vaccine Updates

We are scheduled for the vaccine clinic through Walgreens on December 30th for staff members and Skilled Nursing community members who have chosen to receive the Pfizer COVID vaccine. Our nursing leadership team has spoken with all Skilled Nursing residents. Responsible parties are updated about the vaccine and the necessary consents.

Furthermore, we were informed that our Assisted Living community members will be able to receive the Pfizer COVID vaccine on January 12th, with Walgreens again serving as the clinic provider. Our nursing leadership team will begin contacting Assisted Living residents and responsible parties next week to discuss and obtain consents.

At this time, we have no information regarding vaccine availability for our Independent Living residents. Because the State of Ohio controls the delivery of the COVID vaccine, we will communicate any changes in availability as soon as possible.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season,
Jason French, President
